Q & A

PING Mens G400 SFT Fairways

As is the case with the entire G400 line, players can expect to see faster ball speeds and more distance when it comes to the new G400 fairway woods. Fueling the ball speed and distance increases are a new Maraging Steel clubface that has been utilized in the design. It features the use of C300 steel, which is lightweight, strong, and flexible, and the result is an increased flexing of the face that generates faster ball speeds from all impact points. Between the positioning of added weight toward the heel and a lighter swingweight, PING engineers are making it easier for golfers to release the toe of the G400 SFT fairway woods on the downswing to deliver the clubface in a square position at impact while still offering the ball speed and distance increases that the G400 line is known for.

Features

  • Cascading sole design that helps the clubface flex more at impact, and the sole design allows to the club to sit lower to the ground so that players naturally strike the ball higher on the clubface
  • Low, deep CG that has been made possible by a lightweight 17-4 stainless steel crown and a high-density back weight
  • MOI increases of roughly five percent above what the G fairway woods offered
  • The SFT model's weight has been positioned closer to the heel to help players square the clubface more easily at impact.
  • The SFT versions also feature lighter swingweights and slightly larger clubheads, which also makes them more playable.
  • G400 SFT fairway woods are available in lofts of 16, 19, and 22 degrees
  • Stock Shaft: Alta CB 65
  • Stock Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet
  • Includes headcover

Cascading Sole

The sole design enables the face to flex more at impact and allows players to automatically strike the ball higher on the clubface for more effortless launch.

Ultra-Thin, Lightweight Crown

Thin 17-4 steel used in manufacturing the crown allows weight to be repositioned to create a low, deep CG placement and higher MOI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long - check, straight - check, its a Ping - check Bought this 3 wood two months ago to update my Ping G25. This club is much straighter, with added distance. Ping has another winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long and high Played two rounds so far and even though it’s a 16* 3 wood it really carries. I picked up several yards form the 14.5* g model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Woods I've Ever Owned I've played Pings for 30 years and bought the Ping G400 irons 18 months ago and absolutely love them. I'd been playing the Ping G30 woods, but when TGW recently offered the G400 woods on sale I jumped - bought the 12* SFT driver, the SFT 3-wood, the SFT 5-wood, and the 22* 4-hybrid. Outstanding clubs, clearly the best I've ever owned. Great distance, exceptionally easy to hit. Ping rocks!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best fairway club Got the Ping 3 fairway club for Christmas, Santa did a great job! great on fairway or off the tee, it is the goto for long accurate shots!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I hope it will be great but I don't get to use it The few shots that I hit with it were good but I have not used it enough to get a complete evaluation. I am a senior player so I use fairway woods on many par 4 holes. Like all Ping clubs it is well built.9

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Club in the Bag I bought this several weeks back and I just love it. My old 3 wood would slice. The SFT Technology is awesome, it straightens the slice and the ball just flies. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well designed club This club has helped me regain my confidence with fairway woods.

I have retired and am playing more golf on a regular basis. I want to bridge the gap between my G20 driver and G20 hybrid. What is the difference between the G400 SFT and G400 SF Tec 3 woods?

Asked by: Steadfast
The G400 SFT and SF Tec 3 woods are the same club, just a different abbreviation for PING's Straight Flight Technology.

What is soft regular in a shaft. I am a senior golfer Is it better for me?

Asked by: RJ
Soft regular is PING's equivalent to a senior flex so if you usually play senior flex shafts, soft regular would be a good fit.

You don't show the correct lofts for the SFT model so making sure before I order.

Asked by: tiptop
The lofts change depending on what club head you select. The 3 has a 16.0 loft, the 5 has a 19.0 loft and the 7 head has a 22.0 loft.

ARE THE 3- 5 WOODS ADJUSTABLE ???? DO THEY COME WITH TOOL AND HEAD COVER ????

Asked by: WILWI
These fairway woods do have adjustable lofts. They come with a headcover, however, they do not include the tool.

Is the 3 wood shorter than the 5 how much loft does it adjust to I’m hitting my ping 7 about 190 like to find something easy to hit 220

Asked by: Fred52
The 3 wood has a 42" length, while the 5 has a 42.5" length. You can fine-tune your launch conditions prior to a round by adjusting loft up to +/-1º. You may also custom order the club to your preferred specs by clicking the Custom button located just above the image of the club.
