Rated 5 out of 5 by from As great as you would expect. A solid bag as everyone says. Does great carry or cart. Comfortable and good pockets. If it comes with a rain hood I didn't get one with it. If it doesn't then it would be nice to have one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid golf bag I recently purchased this PING Hoofer stand bag (black/white) before my golf trip to NC. So far I've been generally happy with the product. Very well constructed product. My only complaint though is that the very first time the stand bag was strapped to a golf cart the legs, which are painted white on this version, got scraped up from where it rubs against the back of the cart. I would have thought that PING would have considered and addressed this seeing this as a design flaw and could have easily remedied the issue by adding rubber stoppers or foam pads to buffer and protect the legs from cosmetic damage. A fix that I imagine would not changed very much the production cost of the bag and would keep the customer happy that their purchase isn't damaged upon its first use. Not everyone can afford to have a separate cart and stand bag! On the positive side ... the bag does fit great in my trunk and has ample room in the pockets for various items. Of course, if it would great to have more pockets or deep like a cart bag, especially to house your rain gear, but then it would just be make the bag heavier to carry by stowing away more items that I may not need to have stuffed in the bag. Very convenient on the range as you would expect a stand bag to be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Letdown I'm not sure how this bag gets reviewed as one of the top stand bags year after year. I switched to this from a 2013 SM 3.5 and for me, the Hoofer falls short of the SM on every measure. I only carry 12 clubs but even with that reduced number the grips are constantly sticking together which is just getting incredibly frustrating. I find the top pretty tight and it would be a real challenge to actually fit 14 clubs in the bag without having to rearrange and organize every time I replaced a club. I find the pockets to be barely adequate, there's really no proper depth to them and if I was to start loading up with rain gear and a couple of other things I would be out of room in no time. Also not a proper full length pocket down the one side. The webbing on the sides of the ball pocket has been attached to the inside with a velcro strip on either side, I have no idea why it hasn't been permanently sewn in place. With the zippers all the way open the velcro separates if you pull the pocket open too much and you have to reattach it. The rain hood is just horrible, I couldn't imagine actually playing with the hood over my clubs if I ever got caught in rain. I also found the strap system, both on my old SM and the new SM models, much more comfortable and easier to adjust. Legs bow out a bit at the top. Didn't really think about it too much, but because of this they rub against the bag bracket if you are riding in a cart. Did that once and found that the nice red paint had been completely scuffed off where the legs came in contact with the cart bracket. Finally, I know that manufacturers always slightly understate the bag weight, but this is a full half pound over the 5 lb. stated weight. All in all, just a huge disappointment and so sorry that I sold my SM before I had this in my hands. I've been using Ping clubs for a long time, love the company, but this purchase was a huge mistake. 3 star rating would have been lower except that manufacturing quality is good, honestly I think for me its closer to a 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Bag I had my old bag for close to 10 years. I loved it, but it was falling apart. This new bag is nice and sturdy. I am still getting used to how the straps sit and where the clubs fit best, but I keep finding secure pockets for everything. Really like the cart strap that leaves access to pockets while still on the cart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Basic Stand Bag Overall, I'm pretty happy with my new Ping Hoofer Stand Bag. It seems like it is well made and it is comfortable to carry. The only negatives so far are that there isn't a long vertical pocket that runs the length of the bag (all my other bags have had this, which is great place to keep golf shoes). There is a ½ length pocket that my shoes just fit in, but it is tight. Also, there seems to be more club on club contact in this bag, compared to my last, which makes it harder to slide clubs back in the bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this bag I couldn't believe how light this bag was when I took it out of the box. I've had an old Hoofer 2 for the past 15 years or so and the weight difference was like night and day. Has plenty of easily accessible pockets and love the hip pad for carrying. The only weakness that I've seen so far is the long side pocket is a little tight if you plan on keeping shoes, rain gear, etc. in there. All in all, it's a great bag!
