Q & A

Odyssey Stroke Lab V-Line Putter

With the 2019 Odyssey Stroke Lab putters, Odyssey has completely retooled their approach to putter weighting. It all comes from changing the shaft. The Stroke Lab shaft is 40 grams lighter due to it's new multi-material construction that uses a graphite body with a heavier steel tip. This allows them to add weight into the sole of the club head and the butt-end of the grip. That weight distribution helps golfers make a smooth, accurate, repeatable putting stroke. Stroke Lab putters feature Odyssey's White Hot microhinge face insert, combining the legendary feel of the White Hot material withe dozens of microhinges that promote smooth roll and greater distance control. These putters are available in 10 shapes, including the V-Line mallet, so there is a Stroke Lab design to fit the eye of every golfer.

Features:

  • White Hot microhinge face insert combines legendary White Hot feel with dozens of microhinges that promote top spin for smoother roll and more accurate distance control
  • Tip-heavy shaft saves 40 grams of weight that is relocated to provide smoother performance
  • Stroke Lab shaft is slightly stiffer and has less torque compared to a standard putter shaft to provide better control over the slightly heavier head
  • Additional weight added to the sole of the club and the butt-end of grip help you make a consistently smooth, more accurate putting stroke
  • 10-gram lighter grip also helps redistribute weight for better control and consistency
  • Face-balanced mallet
  • Includes headcover

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Confidence I’ve honestly never felt so confident with a putter in my hand then the V Line Stroke Lab. I rarely miss a 3 or 4 footer anymore which saves me many strokes. So happy it’s in my bag. And it looks amazing in the bag too haha!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Feeling Putter Ever I have been using Odyssey mallet putters for going on two decades, and have settled on the V-Line style as my favorite. I have been using a 2017 R-Line O-Works putter which I really like, but recently decided to try the new Stroke Lab V-Line mallet. I was a bit skeptical about the new multi-material shaft and weight distribution, but I have to say that I can definitely feel a difference in the swing weight and balance compared to my O-Works putter. It just seems easier to swing the putter and put a clean stroke on the ball. And the medium soft and grippy feel of the microhinge face insert is amazing. Compared to an older White Hot insert putter, the ball does seem to roll just a slight bit smoother off the face without hopping and skidding. I can't quantify the effects of this technology but I can feel it, and I am putting better because of it. I highly recommend the new Stroke Lab V-Line..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stroke Lab Experience Not yet sure if the stroke lab concept works for me. I love the putter head but the weight seemed light in the head. I subsequently bought heavier weights which helped some but still feels a bit light for my taste. Yet to be determined but not in the bag for now. Maybe worth trying but if you like a heavier feeling putter maybe look at a different Callaway family putters.
