Q & A

Cobra Men's FMAX Hybrid

Increased Speed, Higher Launch Equal Improved Results

Cobra’s new line of F-MAX golf clubs has been designed to give golfers with more modest swing speeds the ability to generate more clubhead speed and distance, which has been accomplished in part by utilizing lighter swingweights and lighter shafts. The F-MAX hybrids feature a forged 455 stainless steel face insert that produces more ball speed from all impact points, while a fixed back weight positioned toward the heel promotes high launch conditions. Additionally, the offset design provides players who fight a slice with maximum draw bias to help them hit straighter shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hybirds It is by far one of the easiest to hit Hybrids I have ever hit. A great product by Cobra Golf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good decision I already have a 3,4 & 5 hybrid in my bag and struggle with a 6 iron so I decided to buy this 6 hybrid. What a difference, I now have more consistency and control, which is exactly what I was looking for. I might even entertain a 7 hybrid

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected Very easy to strike with a nice high loft. Travels slighty longer than expected but is a great approach club. Looking for more with a higher degree loft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High ball flight, soft landing I bought the Cobra FMAX hybrid in 6H a month ago to replace my 6 iron. While I’ve only used it in one round and am still getting used to it, some things are apparent. First, it’s easy to hit solidly, more so than the iron. Second, the ball flight is quite a bit higher than my 6 iron, but with comparable distance. Whether it’ll help me shave strokes off my game remains to be seen, but it looks promising.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Have Cobra F7 one-length irons...which I love...and was looking for 3 & 4 hybrids to complement them. The FMAX fit the bill perfectly. Good looking, easy to align and solid to hit. I’m very pleased.

I am 75 would it be better to switch to a senior shaft in these clubs from the regular shaft clubs now used?

Asked by: Daniel1033
That will depend on your swing and what you prefer. If your swing still produces enough speed and you don't feel as if your current regular flex shafts are too heavy, you can likely continue playing regular flex. If you feel like your swing is slowing down and would like something lighter, you may want to try a senior flex.

Does the shaft length measure from the butt of the shaft to the top of the hosel?

Asked by: Dennis
To measure the length of the shaft. Your first step would be to have a sturdy 48-inch aluminum straight edge. A yardstick is too short and a tape measure will be too flimsy to give an accurate measurement even if you try to press it against the shaft. Next, you will want to stand up and place the club in its proper position at address with the sole perfectly flat and touching the ground from heel to toe. Even if you address the ball with the toe or heel slightly elevated when you play use the level sole for measuring shafts. Once you have done that place the straight edge so the corner touches the ground and the ruler squares up against the hosel while the club remains in address position. Then press the straight edge as close to the shaft as possible, allowing for the fact that the grip will not allow you to make it perfectly flush. Read the measurement to the bottom of the grip cap. This is the length of a golf club shaft.
