Sole grind options

Six Tour-Proven Sole Grinds

Bounce and sole grinds allow golfers to be fit into the best performance for their swing type and course conditions. SM7 wedges have six options, including the new D Grind.

The F Grind is an all-purpose grind with a traditional full sole, designed to be used primarily on full swings and square face shots.

The S Grind is designed for stability on full shots, best used for square-faced shots with a touch more versatility, based on feedback from Tour pro Steve Stricker.

The M Grind, Bob Vokey's favorite, is made for players who like to rotate the face open and shut for serious versatility around the greens.

The D Grind is the "player's high bounce wedge". It features the same crescent shape of the M with a higher effective bounce for golfers with a steep angle of attack.

The K Grind is the highest bounce grind in the lineup, designed to be the most forgiving for play out of bunkers.

The L Grind has a narrow crescent shape for maximum versatility around the greens, but it's also the least forgiving.

Progressive Center Of Gravity

This concept, pioneered by Titleist and Vokey, aligns the center of gravity with the impact position specific to each loft for precise distance and trajectory control. In SM7, these locations are even higher in the higher lofts and lower in the lower lofts for more consistent performance and noticeably better feel.

100% Inspected Spin Milled Grooves

Every groove on every wedge is inspected at Titleist's facility. This guarantees each wedge is made to their strict tolerances. Grooves are cut even sharper providing SM7 with 100 more rpm. Each wedge is also specially heat treated to provide longer-lasting spin for the life of the club.

Sm7 wedges. I looking for a 54 degree. I use it from 75yds and in. Shut the face, open etc. I like bounce. I like I wider bottom. What should I get

Asked by: Matt
If you like a wider sole, we would recommend the 54° with the F Grind. That is the traditional full sole, an all-purpose grind that will perform well on full shots and has the most bounce for the 54° wedge and 14°.

How do I determine correct bounce and grind?

Asked by: JDCOMP
We would recommend checking out the chart for the different player options listed in the product description for the sole grinds to determine which grind will best suit your game. Bounce is added to prevent a wedge from digging into sand or turf, stopping the momentum of the club through the ball. Wedges with a bounce angle of 4 to 6 degrees are considered low-bounce. Wedges with minimal bounce will be best suited for players who sweep the ball, shallower divots, firmer turf conditions and heavy, coarse sand in bunkers/bunkers with little sand. Any wedge with 7 to 10 degrees of bounce is considered to be a mid-bounce wedge. It will be the most versatile option, suited to a wider range of conditions and swing types. While, high bounce wedges have more than 10 degrees of bounce, meaning the leading edge sits higher when the sole is rested on the ground. These are best suited to players who dig at impact, take deep divots, softer conditions and bunkers with deep fine sand. If you're still unsure we would recommend seeing a local club fitter.
