Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best game improvement wedges I have ever found These are by far the best wedges I have ever tried. Unlike traditional wedges, the grooves are milled into the club all the way across the face. As I tend to align my club towards the heel at address..... and actually strike the ball at the center of the face or more towards the toe.... this edge-to-edge grove design means I am able to produce ball-stopping backspin on off-center strikes. The other great innovation of this club is the "hi-toe" feature. I wish Taylor Made would push this design innovation more in their advertising....(the words "Hi-Toe" are stamped into the club head for Pete's sake) ....as this is the single greatest game improvement wedge design I have personally had the fortune to come across. The toe section of these wedges are a full ~1/2 higher than any other wedges I have ever used. What this means is that when I am making shots from 90 yards and in from the rough.... where I tend to hit thin and sweep under the ball..... the high toe section still makes solid contact with the ball, resulting in great strikes, and since the grooves go all the way across the face.... great ball stopping backspin as well. Another feature of these wedges are milled alignment lines all along the bounce section of the bottom of the club.... which theoretically help keep the club face square as the base of the club touches down during impact with the ball. As far as I'm concerned.... this last feature is more gimmick than solution.... the heads on these clubs are noticeably heavy.... and inertia is what keeps these clubs square. The final feature of these clubs is the missing scoop of metal out of the back of the bounce section of the clubs... in my mind, less metal touching the ground means less resistance... especially from soft fairways.... and a quicker club head speed through the contact zone... another good thing. As other reviewers have mentioned.... the copper colored plating does wear off rather quickly.... but the design of the clubs... and the results I was able to achieve with them vastly outweigh the aesthetics. Excellent wedges!!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wears Very Quickly Nice wedge. Pretty versatile, but wears very, very quickly. I bought this the first week of June and it's now mid July. The face is worn in the middle where I contact the ball like I've had it for over a year. It's labeled "Carbon Steel" on the hosel. FYI "Carbon Steel" is a cheap steel option for many manufacturers of steel products.

Yes, this wedge is good for bunker shots. The high toe and concave sole grind make this club effective when you need to open the face.

can it be bent back to 56 degrees ?

Asked by: Ronald
TaylorMade does have this wedge available for customization, but the loft angle can only be adjusted +/-1°. The closest you could get to a 56° wedge would be the 58° bent back to 57°.
