Four Versatile Sole Grinds

The Standard Sole (SS) is an all-purpose, mid-bounce sole with heel and trailing edge relief for versatility, perfect for moderate attack angles and divots which fits most golfers. The Wide Sole (WS) is a full grind for players with a steep angle of attack with extra width to prevent the sole from skipping into the ball. The Thin Sole (TS) grind has heel relief for precise shot-making with an open face from tight lies. The Eye Sole (ES) grind is inspired by the Eye-2 design with a classic profile for bunker shots.

Loft-Specific Groove Design

Lower-lofted wedges feature a 20° sidewall milled to maximize groove volume with one additional groove compared to the original Glide. Higher-lofted options have two more grooves along with a 28° sidewall and tighter radius for more spin on partial swings.

Bottom 1/2 groove on club face

Bottom 1/2 Groove

PING added a 1/2 groove low on the leading edge to improve contact with the ball, especially on hits low on the face, for greater spin from all conditions.

New Stealth Finish

The Stealth version of the Glide 2.0 wedges features a distinguished dark finish that is highly durable and improves ball interaction with precision-machined grooves. Glide 2.0 wedges are also made from soft 8620 carbon steel for incredible response and feel on all shots around the green.

PING Mens Glide 2.0 Black Wedges 10.0 AWT 2.0 Steel is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wedges I have the 52, 56 and 60 and selected these over Tolkey designed and Callaway Mac Daddie wedges. While I didn't really care for the stock grips I felt that was minor and they have been changed to my preferred grip. I've used these since they were introduced and feel the control and feel improve my short game considerably. I recommend these to anyone who is looking for new wedges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Wedge! I purchased a 56 degree WS grind a few weeks ago and am extremely happy that I did. I have a very steep angle of attack with my wedges and I was struggling with hitting my old wedges fat/heavy at times. The wide sole grind helps reduce the fat/heavy hits and has really helped me be more consistent around the greens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look, even better feel! I bought this wedge having never owned a ping wedge...I think I need another one, the look and feel are amazing. The set up gives you confidence and even this wedge seems a lot more forgiving than forged blade style wedges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tremendous upgrade After a month moving from a Glide 58* SS to the new Glide 2.0 Stealth 58* ES, I could not be happier. Much softer feel and amazing control around greens has saved strokes. The extra groove seems to add more spin on a low struck shot. Hard to quantify, but the dark color just exudes confidence. Wish Ping would make a set in this finish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holing out machines I finally decided to replace my Tour wedges, 54 and 60 deg with Stealth wedges. Opting for the utility wedge with my new i210’s I went with 54 and 58 deg stealths with 14 deg bounce/wide sole to give a consistent 4 deg gap! While the weather has prevented a full on course trial, practicing from 10-30 yards put 70% of shots inside 10feet and 90% inside 15 with both wedges holing out once each from 30 yards, all with a great feel and ideal but easily manipulated flight!! PHENOMENAL!! Great fitting by Scott Thompson, Professional at Haddington GC

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Massive improvement to my short game! So glad I bought this club. Have always been a Ping fan but the technology in this club is fantastic. Has already improved my short game no end - and I play in firm and windy Western Australia! Can’t recommend this club enough

What does the grind mean?

Asked by: Kingv
The grind is the relief and contour that is ground into the sole of the wedge. A grind can provide shotmaking opportunities around the greens. You may view the description of each grind at https://ping.com/clubs/wedges/glide-2-0

Bounce and grind on a ping wedge ? What is this?

Asked by: Tom
The bounce angle is the angle between the ground and the leading edge of the club when the sole is rested on the ground. If you have a steeper angle of attack and take large divots, you'll want more bounce to prevent the club from digging into the ground. If you have a shallow angle of attack and take little to no divot, you'll want less bounce to help get the leading edge of the club under the ball and improve launch. Bounce options will vary depending on which loft you select. TS = Thin Sole WS = Wide Sole SS= Standard Sole ES = Eye Sole For players who have shallow angles of attack or who typically play at courses with firm turf and sand conditions, the TS (thin sole) is a great option. For steeper angles of attack and soft turf and sand conditions the WS (wide sole) will work best, while the SS (standard sole) is a great fit for players with moderate angles of attack and from varying turf conditions. And finally, the ES (Eye sole) offers versatility on all shots played from around the green and especially from bunkers.

What is bounce? Do I have to make a selection or is it determined by the club? Is the SS the best choice for a golfer who does not usualy take a divit or could I be better served with a thinner sole to enable me stike down more?
