Q & A

  • The classic tinkerer, Phil Mickelson teamed with Roger Cleveland, Callaway’s chief wedge designer, to create the Mack Daddy PM-Grind wedges.
  • Among the motivations for the design was that Mickelson found in playing shots around the green that his impact point on the clubface was often high on the toe, especially from heavy rough.
  • That being the case, the PM-Grind was designed with a higher toe and the grooves were basically extended all the way across the face to improve performance on shots struck toward the toe and/or higher on the face.
  • Additionally, the clubhead design and the U-Grind that has been utilized make this a wedge that can be played easily from an open position, making it a great choice for flop shots and from greenside bunkers.
  • The Satin Chrome finish utilized has been designed not to rust.
  • The PM-Grind is offered in lofts of 56, 58, 60, and 64 degrees
  • Stock shaft: KBS Wedge, which weighs 125 grams

Enhanced Surface Area

With 39 percent more of the clubface having grooves, in addition to the higher toe and higher CG, the PM-Grind is a wedge that excels from deep rough around the green.

Weight Ports

By drilling Weight Ports into the back of the flange, weight is saved and allows the CG to be positioned where it needs to be to make the wedge perform as intended.

Callaway Mack Daddy PM Grind Wedges 13.0 KBS Wedge is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Feel & Weight Played 4 rounds with it so far and the club has worked out great! The full milled face helps on off-center hits. Heavier clubhead than my Vokey, which is great for getting out of tight lies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wedge I was struggling with my short game around the green (sculling the ball across the green was routine). Got the 56 with 13 deg bounce and am nailing it! This will take strokes off!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wedge. This wedge makes green side chip and pitch shots simple. The high toe provides mental confidence that even mishit shots will make solid contact with the face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this wedge. I have the TM Hi Toe and the Callaway PM. Similar in design. I love the Hi toe on both but find the PM grind has better turf interaction particularly when the face is opened. This wedge inspires confidence with the big face with full score lines and the most versatile club I have ever played around the green.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Wedges The Mack Daddy PM Grind wedges are my all-time favorite wedges. The full face grooves provide optimal spin as well as maximum forgiveness for those shots hit near the toe. The sole allows easy opening of the face that optimizes variation in the height of your shots without digging. Brilliant engineering without gimmicks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatility I actually had these PM Mack Daddy wedges before. However they had the KBS stiff shaft. Those felt like baseball bats to me as an older golfer. I was told wedges only have stiff shafts when I bought these at a golf store as I had asked for regular shafts. I had these about 2 years. I found online at Calloway that these wedges could be ordered with Recoil 460 grafite in regular shaft. So i traded in for the PM Mack Daddy w/ recoil shaft both 56 & 60 degree lofts. I have Recoil shafts in my Calloway Apex Pro forged irons. What a difference that makes. Much more playable. I like the grind on the flange which allows me to play off all kinds of lies and slopes around the greens. The larger toe area is great for those sand shots. No need to look for different wedges again.

Does Callaway make a left handed ladies lob wedge 58-65 degree?

Asked by: brussell66
The wedges won't necessarily be "Ladies". There is a left-handed 60° wedge in stock currently. Additionally, the customize option may also give you more loft options than what we have in our inventory.

I'm trying to order this club with one modification: 2* flat.  The page demands that I also select a shaft with an uncharge.  Isn't there a standard shaft available?

Asked by: Neko
To custom order the club click the "enter custom specs" tab located above the image of the irons on the product page. In the shaft selection menu there's a shaft called "TT Dynamic Gold Steel" which is the stock shaft and will have a $0 cost next to it. If you do not need to upgrade the shaft, the this is the stock shaft you should select.

What is the difference between the bounce of 10-13?

Asked by: Caddie1962
High bounce wedges have more than 10 degrees of bounce, meaning the leading edge sits higher when the sole is rested on the ground. High-bounce wedges are best suited to players who dig at impact, taking deep divots, softer conditions (i.e. parkland courses) and bunkers with deep fine sand.
