Q & A

Titleist Men's AP2 716 Irons

Tour-Proven Distance And Forgiveness

At address, there’s no question that the 716 AP2 is a players iron, as thin toplines, minimal offset, compact blades, and a forged construction are all part of the stylish package. When you hit the AP2 irons, however, their incredible performance rivals that which can be found in many game-improvement irons, as impressive distance and amazing forgiveness are all part of this club’s playability, along with the soft, crisp feel that Titleist is known for. Given that combination of look, feel, and playability, it should come as no surprise that this is an iron that’s getting plenty of play on Tour.

  • Tungsten weighting that was used in the design low and along the perimeter of the club head increases MOI and helps lower the center of gravity, producing more speed and stability at impact for better results on mis-hits.
  • Optimized CG progression, meanwhile, provides a consistent, tour-proven trajectory with every club, and wider soles with trailing edge relief enable more consistent contact by preventing digging.
  • The stock shaft for the AP2 irons is the True Temper Dynamic Gold, but other custom options are available at no upcharge as well.
  • The stock grip is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Cant say enough about these irons. Made the switch from Callaway razr x forged to the ap2s. These are much more forgiving, and I added 5-8 yards. I love the feel of these irons, you can really feel them all the way through your swing. Im a 12-14 handicap and I dont feel like these are too much club for my game. I just have never like the dead feel and bulky look of GI irons. Love these clubs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best Titleist has this one down. Perfect set for lower handicap players who desire looks, workability and feedback but also need a little forgiveness.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 120 MPH OK I thought the price drop would remedy my issues. I am losing distance because I am 49 and I have a beer belly. I am a 4 handicap and these irons did nothing for me in getting more distance. Just bought the Rogue Pro and they feel solid. Extra distance - maybe 5-10 yards over my R7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Beautiful Set of Irons This is my 5th set of Titleist irons. I never get tired of the quality and craftsmanship of their products. Due to the winter weather, I haven't played them much yet, but they do perform well and live up to the standards I expect from Titleist!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Feel I bought these irons after playing a demo set. The feel and workablity of these are great. I didn't find any added distance, but had more control compared to my previous irons.

what about senior shafts what would you choose

Asked by: dyno
We do not have any senior shafts available. If you had a shaft and flex you would like to go with, this would be selected under "Enter custom specs" directly above the picture to customize the club to your best fit.

Can I get a 56 degree sand wedge in stead of a gap with a new set of AP2 irons?

Asked by: wpotapov
Unfortunately, we do not have a specific sand wedge with that loft degree available to order separately. You can specify the certain clubs you want to order under "enter custom specs". The wedge one has a loft of 50°.

Is there still a place to "enter custom specs" as described in prior questions? I'd like to select specific clubs but don't see the link mentioned in older posts (ie "above the product picture").

Asked by: cthomps427
Because this is a prior generation model, 716 was replaced by the 718, they are no longer available for custom order.
