Q & A

  • With the 718 CBs, the list of what these irons have to offer is even longer, as more tungsten weighting in the long and mid irons is creating more stability at impact and improved launch conditions.
  • New face inserts are creating more ball speed at impact, which in turn is leading to modest but valuable distance gains.
  • With their forged construction from soft 1025 carbon steel, compact blade shapes, thin toplines, narrow soles, and minimal offset, the 718 CB irons provide exceptional feel and the ability to easily shape shots and control trajectory.
  • A modified leading edge has improved turf interaction to provide more consistent results even when the strike isn’t perfect.
  • The 718 CB irons are being offered with the mid-launching and highly responsive Project X LZ shaft, with other premium options also available at no upcharge.
  • The stock grip is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet, which is a favorite among Tour players.

Tungsten Weighting

An average of more than 70 grams of high-density tungsten positioned in the heel and toe of the long and mid irons creates more forgiveness on mis-hits and increased stability at impact.

Side profile of club

Strategic CG Placement

Moving the center of gravity away from the heel and more toward the center of the clubface improves feel and creates more consistency from a performance standpoint.

Refined Leading Edges

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pure Gorgeous set of irons. Played the 710's for a number of years and sort of wore them out. These clubs inspire confidence. Great to look at, great feel and excellent performance. Tested against the AP2 and AP3 and preferred the CB's - distances were comparable, feel no comparison. Not a huge upgrade over the 710's, but comfortingly familiar.

How is the length of an iron measured... from the end of the grip to the top or bottom of the club face? What does it mean -1 or +1?

Asked by: Johnny C
The +1 or -1 option in the custom section for the shaft length would be to add or shorten the shaft by 1 inch. Obtain the proper measuring tool. You will need at least a 48-inch ruler/measuring stick/tape measure in order to measure the length of your golf clubs. Position the golf club. The face of the golf club should be laying flat on a flat surface so that the face is parallel to the ground. Then, place your hand on the top of the club to hold it steady. Place the measuring stick directly behind the golf club. The stick should make contact with the shaft of the club and be placed on the ground right at the heel of the golf club you are measuring. The numbers on the stick should be pointed toward you so you can easily obtain a reading. Find the 1/8-inch marker on the measuring stick that is directly beneath the very top of the golf shaft (i.e. 44 3/8) to find the measurement for that club.
