Q & A

PING Men's iBlade Irons

  • When PING set out to develop the iBlade, its ultimate goal was to create a true blade iron that was unquestionably PING.
  • Players can expect all of the performance, control, and workability that’s typically found in a traditional blade, but they’re also going to get the playability and forgiveness that PING has been known for through the years.
  • The shaping of the iBlade was inspired by PING’s Glide wedge, which engineers chose to work with as a foundation because of its simple yet functional shape.
  • Visually, there’s no question that this is a true players club, as it features thin toplines, compact blade shapes, minimal offset throughout the set, straight leading edges, and a sharp high toe.
  • The construction of the iBlade in terms of shape was designed to deliver control and workability.

  • Cast iron construction, with soft 431 stainless steel and Activated Elastomer for a soft feel and muted impact sound
  • Clubface is almost twice as thin as the highly successful S55 iron and produces faster ball speeds and improved launch for more distance and stopping power
  • Tungsten weighting utilized in the design has enhanced the iBlade’s MOI
  • A new, progressive loft design that features stronger lofts in the long irons and weaker lofts in the 7-PW, a move designed to eliminate gapping problems through the set.
  • Stock shaft: Dynamic Gold Steel

Activated Elastomer

Positioned with a larger surface area behind the iBlade’s clubface for enhanced feel and improved acoustics.

Illustration of tungsten weighting

Tungsten Weighting

Utilized to provide heavier weights in the toe of the clubhead to increase MOI for improved forgiveness on mis-hits.

Illustration of clubface

Thin, High-Speed Clubface

Enables faster ball speeds, higher launch, and improved ball flight consistency throughout the set.

Side of clubface

431 Stainless Steel

Softer than 17-4 steel and also lighter but just as strong, the use of 431 steel enhances the iBlade’s feel and also allows for four grams of weight to be moved to increase MOI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speed I jumped from G30 irons which were great but felt like I was able to shape a shot. I was probably a 12 then and a 5 now. I wasnt sure about going to a blade at first but so glad I did. Tremendous feel and I didn’t loose any distance which was a big concern at first. After hitting these you won’t swing anything else! Couldn’t be happier with purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Difference Making Feel I had iBlades and foolishly traded them in for G400's. I had shot my two low rounds with the iBlades and lost it all with the new irons. I got lucky and bought them back and I the mojo has returned. Maybe not the greatest in cold weather but I have the G400's for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest Blade to hit EVER I bought these last year (2018) for no other reason than I loved the look. The head shape, the top line especially and the clean look. I'm a mid handicap player and have played Ping's cavity back irons and some of the Anser forged irons the last 5 years. These beat them all! Straighter, longer shots, awesome trajectory. Soft feel is outstanding. Extremely forgiving for a blade. The AW2 shaft by Nippon is one of the best feeling shafts I have ever hit. Ping got this one right!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel & look! I'm 66 years old and have played golf for over 50 years. Best irons I've ever used! Great look, great feel, and very forgiving considering it looks like a true "player's blade".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible!! I purchased my iBlades 3 months ago. I was playing with Fourteen TC 888 which is a very solid club but felt I was lacking distance and accuracy and decided to search for New Irons. I am kicking myself now as to why I did not switch sooner to the iBlades. I have them shafted with Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff. This combination is absolutely PURE! Thank You Ping for your Engineering Genius. You have a player for Life!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More butter than a croissant! Had my S56 for years, and loved them. Before that were the i3 oversize, so you know I'm not a club jumper, even though I hit EVERY Ping product when it comes out - but enough about the past. The feeeeeel of this club is unlike anything else, with the look being sick slick. When hit pure ........mmmmmm yum yum get me some. Can fly them low or sky high. Shape shots to the point where I go after EVERY pin position. Confident that when I quit managing the golf course like Phil, then my GIR will improve and I do not have his short game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many sets, until iblades! Bought a set of used iblades. Bought as blue dot, stock length with DG X100. Thought I would need to change the lies and the shafts. Much to my surprise, they are perfect!!! Haven't hit irons straighter for such a long time. The shafts feel perfect, the sound off the face is perfect. These irons are so solid. If you're looking for the most buttery soft feel, don't go here. Go i210. These are firmer but in the best way. So solid. Shaping shots is easy, knockdowns are easy and distance control is so good. I have never wanted to give a review on any irons before but these are just so good. I'm even considering buying a back up set new so I don't have to worry about irons for years!!! Thanks Ping, these are brilliant!!!
