Rated 4 out of 5 by from Callaway Apex CF16 Sand Wedge Purchased the sand wedge to match my irons. Can't believe I found it. I'm in the process of changing the shaft to match my irons. Great buy, the only place I could find it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every dollar It was fine to replace my R11’s... I hit essentially every iron possible and nothing came close to apex!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great irons, great service, TGW was the only place I could find a set of Apex irons matching my LH specs. They offered a great price and shipped me exactly what I wanted almost immediately. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to hit, forgiving, long. I bought a Callaway Apex CF 16 3 iron with a recoil graphite stiff shaft. Always get the shaft that fits your swing. Very important. Forgiving and long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than what they claim! Replaced my SH XR pros with these. Smaller head not smaller performance. Ball rockets off all the faces not just the 7-3 irons. Long consistent distance. Easy to hit. Great shaft availability. Love my Nippon pro 120 stiffs. Great weight. Great feel. Callaway did it all with this set!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better condition than expected! I have recently purchased #3 Apex CF16 Iron from Callaway and its in better shape than I have expected. The iron itself is a great club with perfect consistency and feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CF16 Apex irons To say I'm satisfied with these Apex irons is an understatement. I was playing Ping I3's with stiff steel shafts for at least the last 12 years or so. I was fitted for the Apex CF16 irons with US Mamiya Recoil ES 780 F4 stiff graphite shafts. I am simply blown away by the difference. I've gained at least a club to club and a half or a little more. I'll have to wait to get on the trackman in warmer weather. But at about 55 degrees with Callaway range balls, I'm now hitting the 7 iron roughly 160 - 165. My accuracy with the 4 and 5 iron now is also improved greatly. I'm now carrying the 4 iron around 190 to 195. I had previously quit hitting my Ping 4 and 5 irons and switched to hybrids because the accuracy dropped off severely, but now I can go back to the irons as the distance, accuracy and trajectory is greatly improved. If these irons don't take at least 2-3 strokes off my game I'd be surprised. BTW, I'm 62 years old, 5'6" and 157 lbs and to be getting this kind of distance with my irons, well I never considered it would be possible. These Apex irons are awesome!!!

what swing speed should you have to fit a graphite shaft vs steel

Asked by: pareagle
Graphite shafts would be an option for slower swing speeds. Because they're lighter and more flexible, if you swing too hard, it would be easy to get the club out of position and hit a poor shot. Regular steel flex shafts are generally recommended for swing speeds 70-80 mph, so any swing speed slower than that could be considered a candidate for graphite if a senior flex is not available. It will also depend on which you're more comfortable swinging. And we always recommend our golfers get fitted so they know exactly what works for their game.
