Q & A

  • The G400 features a more streamlined design and at 445cc there is 15 percent less drag created on the downswing, which equates to increased clubhead speed.
  • Its clubface also has undergone a forging process that makes it thinner and more flexible without any loss of strength. More specifically, the face is six percent thinner and 16 percent more flexible, a combination that gives golfers more ball speed from all impact locations.
  • With the more streamlined, compact design, the G400 is even more forgiving than its predecessors and can claim more than 9,000 MOI points.
  • Fueling the high level of forgiveness is Dragonfly Technology, which enabled a lightweight crown and skirt that gave designers discretionary weight that was used to establish a low, deep CG position.
  • A strategically placed tungsten sole weight optimizes stability and launch conditions

  • Internal rib structure to deliver acoustics and feel that are more muted and crisp
  • Is designed to reduce spin rates by as much as 300-400 RPM, which will make it a great option for high-spin players
  • Features a lightweight, adjustable hosel that offers five settings to adjust loft by +/- 1 degree, as well as the driver’s lie angle, to help players optimize ball flight.
  • Stock shaft: Alta CB, which is slightly counterbalanced to pair well with a heavier clubhead (208 grams) to maximize energy transfer at impact.

PING Men's G400 LST Driver Tour 65 Graphite Regular Left 10.0 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome driver! I can see why the Ping G400 LST was the winner of the MyGolfSpy 2018 Most Wanted Driver award, this driver is definitely going to change my game off the tee. It's long, forgiving, and feels great to hit. I'm not a particularly long hitter, but I'm flying the Ping as far as I was hitting my old driver with carry and roll. Definitely worth a look if you're in the market for a new driver without shelling out $500+.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Love It I have played Cobra for many years however after seeing the new Ping G400's I was intrigued with the look. After testing the this driver I was hooked!!! 20 yards longer than any Cobra I've had and sets up so nicely with my natural fade off the tee box. The sound is awesome and the feel at impact was terrific. I was fitted for the tour 65g stiff shaft and good not be happier. Next is the 3 and 5 wood along with the G400 irons and 2.0 Vault Anser putter in copper. GREAT job PING!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Driver Lives up to expectations, based on reviews and ratings. Solid sound, good feel, nice distance, and LST definitely helps narrow dispersion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ping G400 Alta I had been throwing around the idea of getting a new driver for some time now. I was hesitant at first to switch brands. I have always been a Callaway guy. But I could not be more happy with my decision. I love the look and feel of the Ping. The driver looks great at address. (I prefer a square to open face at address.) The driver is very forgiving as well. I will mention the driver does tend to launch .5 to 1 degree higher than the loft says. I have mine turned down to 8.5 and it plays like its 9.5 degrees. Overall awesome driver and I can not wait to put it into play this upcoming season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks and feels good Bought the club 3 weeks ago. Shoveled out an area in my yard. I live in New Hampshire. Hit 5 balls and was pleasantly surprised at how straight they went. Quite an improvement over my old G5

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look and feel! I just played with my new Ping G400 LST for the first time yesterday. This club is visually appealing at set-up and has a great feel and a lot of pop!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Farther and straighter I bought this club looking for extra yardage and got it. It hits about 20 to 30 yards longer than my other club. The surprising thing was how straight the club is. Everything seems to come off on a perfect rope and with more practice now I've been all over the fairway.

So if I am a high ball hitter with a lot of backspin and want to get less spin at a better trajectory.  This is the driver for me??

Asked by: Winkdad25
Yes, this driver is weighted and designed to help you reduce spin off the tee. LST stands for Low Spin Tech.

The soft regular shaft is lighter and more flexible, like PING's equivalent to a senior flex.

Difference of shaft tour 65 regular and alta CB regular> I'm a 20 handicap. Also SFT will good for me

Asked by: johnn123
The Tour 65 shaft is a Tour Spec shaft so it's going to be slightly heavier and tend to produce a lower launch preferred by high level golfers.

what is the difference between the soft regular vs regular?  what would you reccomend for a 84 yr old golfer with an 19 index?

Asked by: JACK5525
Soft regular flex will be a little lighter and more flexible than the regular flex. It's better for slower swing speeds. If your driver swing speed is below 85 mph, soft regular may be the best choice.

Which G400 driver would be better for an average golfer 10-12 handicap.  I hit the ball fairly high with too much spin to get the roll I need for more distance?

Asked by: Keifer
If you're having trouble with too much spin, this Low Spin Technology driver might be the best option for you. We always recommend being fit for the correct model first.
