Q & A

Callaway Ladies Epic Star Driver

Lightweight Designs To Deliver More Speed And Distance

The new ladies Epic Star driver is the lightest driver that Callaway has ever made, and the result is more swing speed and distance for the players who need help in those areas. But this isn’t just a driver that’s light; it’s also loaded with the same technology that has made the standard Epic one of the top-selling drivers in golf. Most notably, the Epic Star features Jailbreak Technology, which utilizes two titanium bars that connect the crown and sole to maximize energy transfer and create faster ball speeds at impact. Additionally, a titanium Exo-Cage construction and lightweight Triaxial Carbon crown combine to establish a low, deep CG position that enables high launch, low spin, and incredible stability at impact. Also of note, Callaway’s proprietary Speed Step has been positioned on the crown to reduce drag during the swing for more aerodynamic efficiency. The Epic Star also features an 11-gram sliding weight to help players achieve their ideal shot shape, but unlike the standard Epic driver, the Star features a lightweight bonded hosel design, so there is no loft or lie adjustability available.

  • Jailbreak Technology enables maximum energy transfer for increased ball speed
  • Lightweight triaxial carbon crown (9.7 grams) helps create a low, deep CG placement
  • Exo-Cage construction allows weight to be moved to the perimeter for enhanced forgiveness
  • A Speed Step on the crown improves airflow to help produce more clubhead speed
  • Lightweight construction and lighter swingweight help players with average swing speeds create more speed
  • Includes headcover

Is there a difference between the Callaway Women’s  GBB Epic Star Driver and the Callaway Women’s Epic Star Driver?

Asked by: PhyllisRue
No, these are the same club.

How is this driver different than the Solaire women's drive 13 degree. When I hit the 13 degree Solaire it sounds tinny, not the normal click of my last Solaire driver which was less degree.

Asked by: Margaret44
The biggest difference between this club and the Solaire driver is the carbon crown. This material will sound different than a regular titanium driver. It will also be a little lighter for more speed and distance, with weight placed strategically to create a low, deep center of gravity for higher launch.

How do you now what loft to choose?

Asked by: Margaret44
For best results we would recommend being fitted by a local golf professional. As a guide, choose a loft to try based on your assessed club-head speed. If it is between 95 and 104 mph, a 10 - 12 degree loft will be appropriate. If it is between 105 and 115 mph, a loft between 7 and 9 degrees should be considered.
