it states the mesh is waterproof, how can that be. My current shoes has mesh upper and my socks are always soaked.

The manufacture guarantees the flexible mesh upper to be waterproof and have a 2-year waterproof guarantee on it. You can always send them back for warranty for a replacement or refund, if you have any leaking issues within 2 year of the purchase date.

how narrow is the narrow fit

The width of narrow shoes will also be proportional to the shoe size. Typically, this measurement will be 1/16th inch less than that of Medium or standard shoes.
