Q & A
Cleveland has enjoyed great success with its TFI 2135 putters since their introduction in 2016, as players have enjoyed improved alignment regardless of how they position their eyes at address. Why? Cleveland engineers discovered that by moving the sightline 21.35 millimeters off the ground, which is exactly in line with the center of a golf ball, that no matter how players choose to address the ball the sightline will be accurate and make alignment easier. Brand new from Cleveland is the TFI 2135 Satin lineup, which is still giving players the alignment help they need but also new technology that’s improving distance control and feel. To improve distance control, and most notably performance on mis-hits, Cleveland is utilizing different milling patterns for each model to optimize MOI, which will help golfers improve their speed control and get the ball closer to the hole regardless of the quality of strike. Additionally, the milling pattern is three times deeper than what was previously used in the 2135 lineup and that combines with a TPU face insert to create one of the softest feeling putters on the market today. Also of note, a higher-contrast sightline has been implemented on the 2135 Satin putters to help improve focus. More specifically as it relates to the different designs being offered, the Cero model is a face-balanced mallet that will work best for players who have a slight arc in their putting stroke or utilize a straight back, straight through approach.
