Callaway Mens X Forged 18 Utility Irons

Forged Performance In A Versatile Golf Club

Callaway's newest utility iron, the X Forged UT, features a forged design that gives better golfers the confidence they need to hit the fairway or green along with the accuracy and control to pull off the shot. The CG is strategically placed in the center of the face for a lower, more penetrating flight with less curve for powerful, straighter strikes. A hollow body construction maintains the traditional shape of a long iron while a tungsten insert engineers the club for higher MOI, easy launch, and greater control. Industry-leading 360 Face Cup technology raises the COR up to the limit for greater ball speeds at all impact locations.

  • Forged Precision & Performance: Center of gravity is positioned in line with the center of the face to maximize ball speed and create even straighter flight
  • More Control & Forgiveness: Tungsten-infused insert increases forgiveness, providing easy launch and longer carry, combined with a hollow body for added forgiveness in the traditional long iron shape
  • Longer Average Distance: 360 Face Cup technology boosts ball speed with more efficiency on center hits with less distance loss on off-center strikes

Callaway Mens X Forged 18 Utility Irons Project X Steel 4 Stiff Right 24.0 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best club in the bag Nothing is more accurate. Distance rivals the 3-wood. Most pressure-packed hole my son faced -- the No. 9, 190-yard par 3 at East Lake in Atlanta -- he used this club and came within six feet to the hole. Only issue is this particular club was very difficult to obtain due to back orders and wait time. Originally ordered through a local Callaway rep. Waited a month ... nothing. Ordered then on Callaway online. Waited for another month. Evidently, this club had not been made or something weird. Worth the wait, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More reiable long game option The launch is very nice with these clubs. They look very clean/pro at setup, and unlike a traditional 3 or 4 iron, dont require extra swing to make them work right. My set feels well rounded out now on the long end

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Something not quite right... I have the 2 iron version as well. It’s straight, feels good. I bought the 4 iron direct from Callaway. It’s all over the place. I’m sure it’s me, not the club. But for me, this club leaves something to be desired. I don’t know if it’s the shaft, I paired it up with my iron shafts but there is something off. I will say. If you pure this club it is a rocket, probably 15 yards longer than the driving iron it was replacing. I think it’s a little expensive for what you’re getting. I thought it would be much more forgiving. After 1 round, the face has some decent scratches. It doesn’t impact performance but frankly, it’s a lot of scuffing for the little amount of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from high ball flight and long I have the 27 deg x foraged UT iron. I had the Apex UT and the X forged UT is a better club in everyway. The swing weight is a bit heavier and matches more closely the X forged irons, the feel, the sound and the look are all upgrades. This club has replaced my 5i . I am getting a higher and more consistent shot with this club that is 5 to 10yards longer than the standard x forged 5i and it is much more forgiving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from super I bought one in April and it has proven to be a terrific club. High and straight. Best long iron I have owed in 30 years. Thinking of adding a 3 and 5 iron because it is so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s pretty sick First day I used this club I immediately fell in love hitting shots I’ve never made before and outdriving my friends off the tee box. The versatility was incredible! This club will be in my bag for years to come

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for me. I play callaway apex combo irons and love them but not a fan of the UT forged. I hit my 4 iron with 5-10 yards of my 18* UT that is bent to 20*. The UT is much less forgiving and accurate. The UT will not make it in my bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Make sure you know where it will fit in your bag Great product - beautiful finish and it feels great in the hands. Only problem for me has been figuring out what to drop out of my bag to accommodate it. Still not 100% comfortable with the distance control. Is it a 2 iron or a 3 iron? Other than my inability to figure out where to play it, it’s a great club
