Callaway Men's Epic Flash Sub Zero Driver

Overview

  • Callaway's 2019 Epic Flash Sub Zero driver combines the new Flash Face Technology with their signature Jailbreak Technology to generate more ball speed and distance in low spin head design.
  • Flash Face Technology features a unique mapping of subtle ripples on the back of the face in a pattern developed by artificial intelligence through machine learning to create the best possible pattern to maximize ball speed in the center of the face.
  • The ripples on the inner side of the face are forged from special titanium and heat treated to create a combination of flexibility, speed, and strength.
  • Callaway continues to utilize Jailbreak Technology, two internal bars that connect the crown and the sole to stiffen and stabilize the club head, generating faster ball speed off the face.
  • The advanced head design and internal weighting of the Sub Zero driver create a rare combination of high MOI and low spin for distance and forgiveness for better golfers.
  • Adjustable perimeter weighting is available for the first time in a Sub Zero driver model, allowing you to control ball flight with a sliding 12-gram weight so you can hit straighter shots or create draw/fade bias.
  • The Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero driver is considered a players' driver, lowering spin for golfers with higher swing speeds without losing distance or forgiveness.

Flash Face Technology

Callaway engineers used artificial intelligence and machine learning to create a specifically-mapped series of ripples on the inside of the club face to promote faster ball speed in the center of the face.

Jailbreak Technology

Jailbreak Technology

Jailbreak Technology is included in the Epic Flash driver. Two internal bars connect the crown and the sole to stiffen and stabilize the club head to promote faster ball speed all over the face.

High MOI, Low Spin Head Design

High MOI, Low Spin Head Design

The Epic Flash Sub Zero model features an advanced head shape and internal weighting for a unique combination of high MOI and low spin in a players' driver to provide more forgiveness and distance.

Adjustable Perimeter Weighting

Adjustable Perimeter Weighting

A sliding 12-gram weight along the perimeter of the club head lets you adjust weighting to help you create the shot you want from straighter shots to fades or draws. This is the first time Callaway as used adjustable perimeter weighting in a Sub Zero driver model.

Callaway Mens Epic Flash Sub Zero Driver Project X HZRDUS Black Smoke 70 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic look, solid feel Still toying back and forth with my M5. The traditionalist in me really likes the classic black head. A little heavier head than the M5. Solid and off center strikes with both produce commensurate distance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Driver has no pop! Instantly regretted this purchase after the first round. Thought I was upgrading from a 3yr old driver but was I wrong. I lost 20yds on my drive. After 3 frustrating rounds I put the old driver back in the bag. I guess the epic flash will be an expensive dust collector in the corner of my office

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Longer and more forgiving than I could have imagined! I’m 37 and have been losing a little distance since my early 20’s. I purchased the Epic Flash SZ based upon video reviews and the trade in program not really needing a new driver, I was just looking to trade in some irons to get rid of. $300.00 trade in value, thanks Callaway. I’m 10-15 yards longer than my existing Driver and the forgiveness is amazing! I’m hitting it past the places I used to play second shots from at my local club when I was younger. I can’t rave enough about this driver!!! 9 degree with the Project Even Flow black shaft is the real deal! The best shaft I’ve gamed and I have played a lot of competitive golf!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flash 3-wood This is an amazing golf club. I was so impressed, I followed up with purchasing a Sub Zero Flash Driver. They are the “real deal”!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Solid All the hype is true.. I did soup it up with the GDI shaft. Well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from outstanding! It is so manageable, long & precise. The adjustments are great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faster ball speed & longer distance I tried Cobra F9 and TM M5 drivers this year. They are good drivers but not great. I bought the Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero driver this week and it is so much better. This driver produces faster ball speed, which equates to more distance. It flies straighter than other drivers. This is a real deal! Everyone got to try this driver tomorrow!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big improvement Using the same shaft I had in my Rouge driver, I picked up 10 yards with the flash. Totally solid hits are 20 yards longer. Accuracy doesn’t suffer and mishits are playable.
