Callaway Mens Big Bertha Fusion Fairway Woods

A New Level Of Forgiving Fairway Woods

As is the case with the Big Bertha Fusion driver, forgiveness is the name of the game when it comes to Callaway’s Fusion fairway woods. Thanks to the use of a lightweight triaxial carbon crown and a bonded hosel design, engineers had more than 20 grams of discretionary weight to work with in the design process. That weight has been positioned primarily low and deep in the clubhead to create a low CG that makes the Fusion fairway woods not only more forgiving but higher launching and more stable as well. The use of triaxial carbon in the design also made a new, more aerodynamic head shape possible, and the Fusion fairway woods utilize a Speed Step on the crown, technology borrowed from the XR series and Callaway’s collaboration with Boeing, to help generate faster swing speeds and improved distance. Also utilized in the design is Callaway’s industry-leading Hyper Speed Face Cup technology, which helps produce tremendous ball speeds for enhanced distance on shots struck not only from the center of the clubface but from impact points across the face. The Big Bertha Fusion fairway woods are being offered in lofts of 15 degrees (3-wood, 178cc)), 18 degrees (5 wood, 160cc)), and 21 degrees (7 wood, 149cc), and as mentioned earlier there is no adjustability within this fairway wood line. Callaway has also partnered with UST and the Fusion fairway woods will feature lightweight Recoil ES 450 graphite shafts as the stock option. Other shaft options, however, are available as well.

Ideal For:

Players of all ability levels who need more forgiveness and higher launch in a fairway wood. Like the Big Bertha Fusion driver, there will be those who want to categorize Fusion fairway woods, given their performance attributes, as game-improvement clubs for higher-handicap players. And these fairways would be a great choice for that type of player. But better players are also likely to gravitate toward the Fusion fairway woods given how easy they are to launch from the turf and the explosive ball speeds they produce. That said, for the better player who values the workability that comes with a more compact, traditional head shape, the XR 16 Pro fairway woods might be a better option.

Triaxial Carbon Crown

This new material is extremely light and strong, creating more forgiveness and stability by saving wieght that can be moved to more effective places in the club head while providing a unqiue appearance.

Steel Body

The steel body construction of these fairway woods works together with the weight savings to promote straighter, longer shots from more locations on the golf course.

Hyper Speed Face Cup

This unique Callaway technology creates incredible speed on center shots and maintains speed on off-center strikes for more consistent results every time.

What They're Saying...

“The focus here is on MOI, which means forgiveness. It’s all about forgiveness. This club is tremendously easy to hit; it’s easy to launch in the air.”

Dave Neville, Callaway Senior Director of Brand Management for Metal Woods and Wedges

“You pay a little bit of a penalty when you have the adjustable hosel. It’s about six or seven grams, so we decided to go with a regular traditional hosel and then use that six/seven grams to move the weight low and deep in the head, once again increasing MOI, making it easier to launch.”

Dave Neville, Callaway Senior Director of Brand Management for Metal Woods and Wedges

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a good club fusions should be illegal..thank God they aren't illegal I've played Callaway forever & had all their models at one time our another but the fusion is the BEST YET!!! They aren't only pretty but perform & LONG!!! I've tried the Epic but the fusion is just as good. The technology is very similar. With my swing speed the jail break technology in Epic which is suppose to stabilize the head at impact is not a factor. Epic is for high swing speeds where the head is more subject to flexing. An honest up front Callaway rep told me just that. I play Fusion driver, 3 wood & 5. JUST PLAN AWESOME CLUBS. I'm 70 years old... play forward (senior) tees & a 4 handicap. I also just bought the Big Bertha OS irons. They too I recommend
