Q & A

Overview

  • Callaway's Jailbreak Technology now features an hourglass glass shape, making them 25% lighter.
  • The new X-Face architecture strategically makes parts of the club face thicker and thinner for faster speed all over.
  • Triaxial carbon material in the crown saves more weight, relocating it to the perimeter of the head for higher MOI (stability).
  • A slightly different head shape keeps the center of gravity low and deep for to further reduce spin.
  • The Sub Zero is for golfers looking for more distance and need to reduce spin in order to achieve it.

Features

  • Jailbreak Technology has been redesigned to save more weight while stiffening the crown and sole
  • Interchangeable sole weights provide more control over spin and launch
  • Sub Zero head shape positions the CG low and deep with a more neutral bias for higher launch and low spin
  • Boeing Aero Package redefines the shape of the leading edge and Speed Step technology for better airflow and faster head speed
  • New X-Face Architecture uses varying thickness to promote faster ball speed across a larger area of the club face
  • Wide range of premium after-market shafts available in every weight class for custom performance
  • Includes headcover

Improved Jailbreak Technology

The internal titanium bars have been redesigned into an hourglass shape for even more weight savings. Jailbreak bars stiffen the crown and sole to promote faster ball speed in the face while now allowing weight to be placed elsewhere for more forgiveness.

Spin Trajectory Control

Spin And Trajectory Control

Two interchangeable weights in the sole allows you to adjust spin plus or minus 200 rpm. Place the 14 gram weight forward to reduce spin or place it in the back for more forgiveness, higher launch, and longer carry.

Triaxial Carbon Crown

Triaxial Carbon Crown

This lightweight and strong composite saves weight, moving it to the perimeter of the club for higher MOI. The shape of the Sub Zero club head positions the center of gravity low and deep with a more neutral bias than the standard Rogue.

New X-Face Architecture

New X-Face Architecture

X-Face uses a variable face thickness design, strategically placing thicker and thinner sections where you need them to give you the ideal performance no matter where you strike the ball.

Boeing Aero Package

Boeing and Callaway developed the Speed Step technology used in previous drivers. Now the leading edge has been redesigned to improve airflow and deliver faster club head speed.

Multiple Shaft Offerings

Callaway Men's Rogue Sub Zero Driver Project X EvenFlow Blue 60 Stiff Right 9.0 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel and control This is simply the best driver I have ever swung. I am a 5 index but 70 years old, so I do not have the club head speed I once had. I have always been a straight off the tee, but I almost feel like I can hit a spot with this driver. Trac Man fitted a 10.5 degree head with the stock Aldila 60 gram stiff shaft, up from a regular shaft in past drivers, and it feels easy to swing and control and extremely solid at impact. And it is straight. I hit it maybe 10 yards farther--but that is a lot at a low swing speed. Great club.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great driver I have played several rounds with my new Rogue SZ 9* driver. Here's the lowdown. Looks great at set-up. Very forgiving. Good-sized sweet spot. Even shots outside the sweet spot are almost always in play and the distance penalty isn't nearly as much as even my previous Epic and XR drivers. Overall. Rogue is really an outstanding driver and I would recommend that anyone looking for an upgrade to their driver give it a serious look.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bought direct from Callaway . It is spec to a rogue driver that I love but something is not right . CALLAWAY only cares when they are selling it . It is not GOOD . It is nothing like the same exact driver I have been using .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I play to an 11 handicap and was looking for more distance. Sub zero provides excellent distance but is VERY unforgiving. Excellent distance and will dramatically lower your spin rate. SZ is very unforgiving on off center hits and can be tough to keep in play.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid feel After dialing in my new sub zero driver I have been more consistent with accuracy and distance. The best asset is the solid feel of the ball coming off the clubface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best driver Ordered directly from the Callaway custom shop option with a Fujikura Pro 63 shaft down 1/4”. Great combo with a perfect trajectory and numbers I was looking for. I have never driven better than now. Thanks Callaway!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the EPIC I own the Epic and found it to be a very good driver, but after buying and using the Rogue Sub Zero for a month now there is no comparison. This driver has a sweeter sound and the ball just explodes off the face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Callaway Driver yet! Having been a long time Callaway supporter and fan of their equipment, I was happy when my club-fitter told me that the Callaway Sub Zero 9* was the best fit of the drivers that I tested. Over the last 2 months that I have had the club I have played with it in casual rounds, club events and also 2 state tournaments. I can honestly say that this is the bests driver that Callaway has ever put on the market. The look at address is very pleasing to the eye and it frames the ball very well. As with the Epic and other models, the Rogue SZ has a great deal of variety in settings which enabled me to "dial in" the perfect fit for my game and even course set up. I was a little nervous about the low spinning characteristics but it did not have any effect on my initial launch of tee shots...it just flattened out the trajectory allowing for more consistent distance. The Rogue SZ is also very forgiving on mishit balls without a noticeable lack in distance. In other words, this club is HOT across the face. I purchased this with the Even Flow shaft as it performed best with my tempo and swing speed but Callaway offers a large variety of shaft options to accommodate other tempo/speed varieties. All in all, a great club and a continued satisfied customer.

what is the difference between the regular rogue driver and the sub zero model?

Asked by: G Moore
The Sub Zero model has a slightly different head shape that keeps the center of gravity low and deep for to help reduce spin. It also has two interchangeable sole weights to provide more control over spin and launch.
