Callaway Mack Daddy PM Grind Wedges

Designed By Phil Mickelson's Preferences

The classic tinkerer, Phil Mickelson teamed with Roger Cleveland, Callaway’s chief wedge designer, to create the Mack Daddy PM-Grind wedges. Among the motivations for the design was that Mickelson found in playing shots around the green that his impact point on the clubface was often high on the toe, especially from heavy rough. That being the case, the PM-Grind was designed with a higher toe and the grooves were basically extended all the way across the face to improve performance on shots struck toward the toe and/or higher on the face. Additionally, the clubhead design and the U-Grind that has been utilized make this a wedge that can be played easily from an open position, making it a great choice for flop shots and from greenside bunkers. In short, this is a wedge that is masterful around the greens. The PM-Grind is offered in lofts of 56, 58, 60, and 64 degrees and each model comes stock with a KBS Wedge Shaft, which weighs 125 grams. The Satin Chrome finish utilized has been designed not to rust.

Ideal For:

Golfers looking for more versatility for shots played around the green. On the PGA Tour, there might not be a more creative player than Phil Mickelson when it comes to the short game. If these wedges were designed by him to help him play any shot he needs around the green, than they can certainly help you execute your short game shots better as well.

Enhanced Surface Area

With 39 percent more of the clubface having grooves, in addition to the higher toe and higher CG, the PM-Grind is a wedge that excels from deep rough around the green.

Enhanced Surface Area

Weight Ports

By drilling Weight Ports into the back of the flange, weight is saved and allows the CG to be positioned where it needs to be to make the wedge perform as intended.

What They're Saying...

“This is a really cool project. This is a project that Roger Cleveland, our chief wedge designer, worked directly with Phil Mickelson on. It actually has grooves all the way across the face. The deep weight ports allowed us to move the CG up higher and towards the toe. It’s got a wide sole with plenty of bounce that makes it really easy to use out of the bunker.”

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent for the sand!!! I got my Mack Daddy wedge about a month ago for the express purpose of helping on shots close to the green. Boy, does it really live up to expectations. Like most hackers, I have an occasioanknbad shot. I have learned to slow down and let the club do it’s job and it is magic. Good height and actual spin. It does not go far but it definitely live up to expectations. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PM Grind 64 degree wedge Bought this to replace my 60 Phil Mickelson Yonex wedge that can not be re-grooved any longer. Great addition to the bag. Very useful around the greens and out of green side traps. Thrilled with this purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Weapon All Around the Greens This club is delightful from the sand. The higher center of gravity makes touch shots from thick lies much easier. The grind in the sole makes it easier to clip the ball from tight lies as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome feel out of the sand and rough I bought this a month ago to replace my cleveland 588 . I hated to give that one up as it was a good club but this Mack Daddy PM grind is truly a better club! The extra groove coverage on face is great especially with flop shots out of rough. Bounce and stopping ability is really nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Wedge So I read a review (not this forum) on this club where reviewer cautioned regarding difficulty getting proficient with this wedge and how it would take time. I have loved it from the get go. I have 56 with 13 bounce. I still play my Cleveland 56 for 85 yards to 105. I use the Mack Daddy for 85 yards and in. It's 1/4 inch shorter than my Cleveland. It is a bit heavier but I like how they have positioned the weight. I love the grooves and the feedback from ball strikes and can hit any kind of shot you try with confidence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wedge This is my second wedge. I have two difference degrees and use these wedges as my sand and utility wedges. Great weight, feel and spin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could not get over the look I played 1-1/2 rounds with this club. It was recommended to me by a pro when I explained how I use my 60 around the green. Which is pretty much all shots anywhere 85 yds in. Because of the tall toe it looks like it is laying flat and I would naturally deloft it big time and I was hitting thin shots with it. I gave up on it. I will say it was pretty good out of the sand. Btw I had no intention of using this out of sand but a couple times hitting a thin chip around green I put it in and didn’t go grab my sw.
