It did not work properly
With regular batteries it used up the batteries too quickly.
I bought rechargeable batteries, and the device didn't work very well at all.
I know it was a cheaper model, but I wouldn't buy it, if it were half the price.

slightly above average
If your looking for yardage and view of the layout of the hole with yardages to obstacles it is great and easy to use. I do like the ability to set the pin to the portion of the green. The yardages are within a yard or two, subsequently as close to where you think the pin is set on the green. For the money I feel it was definitely worth it for the ease of mind and pace of play.

Very accurate about 80% of the time
I bought this to speed up my play, even though I also carry a Bushnell range finder. Battery life is good, almost three rounds. The screen is okay, you can see everything but just barely.
HOWEVER, three to four times a round I get a bad number, and it's off alot. The first time I really noticed it game me 120 to the middle. After I flew the green, I checked with the Bushnell, and it was closer to 80 yds. I thought it might be the map of the course, but it happens at different places. I then took it to another course, and had the same problem. It typically is off at least 15 yds.
I did an upgrade on the software and maps, hoping this would fix the problem. But the upgrade seem to have no effect.
I'm not sure what's wrong. Others haven't mentioned this issue, so I don't know if I got a lemon. If you buy this model, check it out as soon as you get it, and if you have problems be sure you can return the unit.

Very easy to use, & very accurate.
So far, I have really enjoyed this Garmin G3 GPS. I've only played 2 rounds with it so far. It is really accurate, & easy to use. I played 2 full rounds of golf before I replaced the batteries. I cannot attest for it's durability yet, and initially the quality appears to be good.
