Distance, forgiveness and high launch enable you to launch the ball farther
and higher so you can attack the pin. Progressive lengths and lofts and a
thin face are key to achieving a higher max ball flight to give you the stopping
power needed for scoring. Distance control and consistent, predictable results
are provided by a custom tuning port that sits very low and supports a thin
face to generate faster ball speeds.
PING Mens G30 Irons feature:
Set includes: #4 thru PW (45°) UW (50°)
Custom Tuning Port and undercut cavity help position the center of gravity
low-back to optimize launch and forgiveness.
Ensures a solid feel to inspire confidence.
With distance also comes forgiveness and accuracy.
Slightly longer blade lengths help to increase moment of inertia, most
noticeably in the 4 through 7 iron.
Progressive offset generates higher ball flights in the longer irons
and penetrating, controlled trajectories with the scoring clubs.
Another advantage is a sole design optimized to promote solid contact
with consistent trajectories.
To improve turf interaction, relief was added to the lead and trailing
edges, and bounce was refined to perform with any angle of attack.
A soft elastomer badge further contributes to improved feel and sound
in the perimeter-weighted design.

PING G30... The Future Of FAST!
PING Mens G30 Irons
Fantastic irons for a wide range of golfers
Just got my custom fitted set of Ping G30s. I did the Ping nFlight fitting at my local course's pro shop thinking I wanted the i25 irons. I was surprised to find out just how much better these G30 irons performed for me. I'm not a fan of the super-game-improvement type of iron with the larger heads, thick toplines, and wide soles, but Ping toned all of that down a bit compared to the G25s and G20s and G15s of the past. These don't appear as large and clunky even though they are much beefier than the i series and Anser irons.
The clubs feel great, a much hotter face than I was used to feeling in past Ping iron offerings.
The CFS distance shaft feels great as well, a bit lighter in weight (110 grams w/ the cushion insert# which adds to the clubhead speed.
In the end it was the numbers which spoke for themselves. Compared to the i25s I was hitting these with better distance #179 carry for a 7 iron vs. 170 in the i25# better launch/spin characteristics, and tighter dispersion #1 yard average off line vs. 6 for the i25s#. I gained in clubhead speed #93mph vs. 90mph# and ball speed #122mph vs. 117mph)
Can't wait to take them to the course! I'm a 7 handicap and hoping these help me get even lower. I am a club longer in all my irons now so that should help me hit more greens.

I could not recommend these highly enough. These babies are super long and super solid. I am moving from Callaway blades to these and I've got to say WOW! I've had lots of other sets of irons and these blow all of them away with quality, engineering and great looks. Don't hesitate, these are the best. If you can't play well with these, lessons from a good pro are what you need.

These are great clubs and wish I could afford all
The clubs are all I expected them to be as I have been playing with Ping clubs for over 40 years, It is time for an update but things are tight and money is short so one day maybe soon I will be able to buy the whole set. Great clubs and great company.

Outstanding clubs, with one small detail...
I just received my new G30 set and took them out for my first round and was very happy with the clubs. They are extremely forgiving, accurate and long. Compared to my old PING Rapture V2 set, they are not as thick on the top line even though they are a little longer from heel to toe. You can move the ball left and right but it will take more opening and closing of the face than normal but they still tend to go straight. I had trouble finding the proper distance for each club but as the round progressed I figured it out. The gaps are a little more pronounced with these than with my old set, so for me there is a 5 to 8 yards gap between clubs. Contact with the ball feels like with a non-game improvement club, pretty good face/ball feedback if the ball is hit correctly. This is probably due to the much thinner face on the G30s compared to my old Raptures. I still find the sound a little muted, not as lively a sound when contact is perfectly made as with my experiment with the Mizuno JPX EZs. The one thing I did not like, as with most club sets off the box, is that the grips are extremely harsh on the hands. They chewed a fairly new Foot Joy Spider 2 glove and my right hand. I will change them to Winn Dry Tac. Bottom line is that PING have produced and outstanding set of game improvement clubs that don't feel like shovels. I highly recommend this set.
