Custom engineering produces faster ball speeds and longer distance with a higher
maximum shot height so you have the stopping power to hold greens, giving you
the confidence to attack pins. To increase face deflection and ball speed for
adding distance with a higher peak trajectory, the 17-4 stainless steel face
uses a stronger H900 heat-treatment process, making it thin but strong. The
result is more distance with the steeper landing angle you need to hold shots
on the green.
PING Mens G30 Hybrid features:
Performance-engineered internal weight pads.
Heel-toe weighting elevates moment of inertia and forgiveness.
Weight in the low sole creates a low-back center of gravity (CG) for consistent
impact and helps you launch the ball high and on target.
In the lower-lofted hybrids, the CG is farther back to promote high launch.
A lower, more forward CG through the mid- and higher-lofted models reduces
Progressive CG locations and offsets ensure efficient gapping and trajectories
that maximize distance.
To inspire confidence, the hybrids' top rail is flatter and the heel
section is higher, providing a very square face at address.
Helps with aim and alignment consistency.

PING G30 Hybrid... The Future Of FAST!
PING Mens G30 Hybrid
Game improvement hybrid
I bought the 17 and 22 degree G30 hybrids. I have been a Ping fan for a long time. I have always found them forgiving and long. I had been fitted for a set of clubs in the past but more recently bought off the shelf or customized on my own. This purchase was off the shelf with the x-stiff shaft. These are just as forgving as my G25s with similar distance. I like the looks a little better this version. The blue is nice.
I have never been a good wind player. It just kills my distance despite the fact my swing speed is about 110mph. I went and was fitted for a new set of clubs recently and realize why. I was also playing the G30 irons. These clubs are meant to get the ball in the air and they do that. If you have a high swing speed or launch it high anyway, you'll need a different shaft or club. My spin rate was way too high. I am now playing the Callaway X2 Hot Pro with a heavier, x-stiff shaft and absolutely love it.
Bottom line, if you need the higher launch with plenty of distance and forgiveness, G30 hybrids and irons are a great choice. If you are a better player with higher swing speeds, look elsewhere or at least make a drastic shaft change.
