Faster Swing Speeds. Faster Ball Speeds. More Distance & Consistency!
Increased ball speed is achieved through a hotter face without sacrificing high
launch or consistency. The face is engineered using Carpenter 475 steel, a material
44 percent stronger than 17-4 stainless steel. The added strength allows for
a thin, uniform-thickness face for maximizing deflection to increase ball speed
PING Mens G30 Golf Fairway Woods feature:
Turbulators crafted onto the crown create a captured appearance that assists
with aim and provides confidence.
The face profile provides an inspirational appearance while increasing
its height for additional face bending and forgiveness.
Progressive center of gravity (CG) positions to maximize distance.
A low and deep CG in the 3-wood promotes high launch with optimal spin.
CG progresses more forward and lower in the 5- and 7-woods to keep launch
angle and spin optimized for distance and control.
The lightweight hosel design unlocks the benefits of adjustability without
Offers five settings and up to two full degrees of loft adjustment to
further optimize launch angle and spin rate.
Using Trajectory Tuning+ Technology, you can choose the standard loft,
or fine-tune your trajectory by adding or reducing loft.
Settings are standard, +0.6°, +1°, -0.6°, and -1°.

Not as good as either the G 25 or K 15 series. No better accuracy or distance

Better than the G25
I got the 3 and 5 woods to complement my driver (see my review TURBULATORS ROCK!!!). I did the same a couple of years ago with the G25 model and, how do I say this nicely...they sucked!!! Even when I did catch it well, which was very seldom, the G25 fairway woods just didn't go. (I think it was in part to the sucky stock shaft and poor head weight). But, the new G30's are refreshingly better. Easy to hit, much better stock shaft and, of course, they have turbulators. Not sure if the turbulators are that big a deal, but these woods work well. I'd say there a little bit better than average length and fairly forgiving. Nice. Not great, but nice.

Driver distance in a wood, two small details...
I just received my G30 fairway wood and was extremely pleased with the club. The club feels much lighter than my old G20 fairway wood, and the distance produced is driver like. I hit a second shot from 290 yards out and I calculated it traveled 265 to 270 yards. The club is not as draw biased as other fairway woods I had, so I didn't have to adjust my alignment too much. The turbulators on the crown help as alignment marks. Feedback on impact is buttery smooth and the sound lets you know if you drilled it. I played it at 14.5 degrees and the ball flight is about 30 feet off the deck, great to keep the ball flight from being affected by the wind. Two things I did not like; the grip is too harsh on the hands and the adjustment wrench was not included. I have a G30 driver on the way, so hopefully it is the same tool for both. Seems like the idea is for you to buy the driver if you want to be able to adjust the loft in your wood. Maybe not a good deal for a fair way wood only customer. Bottom line is that PING have delivered a much more improved fairway wood in terms of distance and accuracy. I highly recommend this club.
