Cobra Mens Bio Cell + Irons
The negatives far outweight the positives of these
Ordered these irons to replace my TM R11 set, thinking I was ready for more of a player's iron to try to work the ball more and lower my ball flight. After a few rounds and practice sessions at the range I am going back to my R11s for the following reasons:
1. Very harsh feeling club. I'm not sure if it is due to the heads or the DG S300 shafts or a combo of them both, but I was very disappointed in the feel of these irons. They have tungsten perimeter weighting, nice Lamkin 3GEN REL grips, and a vibration-dampening cavity - so I thought the feel of these clubs would be great. Boy was I wrong. They sting on mishits and good hits - full shots and slow swings both - like nothing I've ever felt before. My elbows and wrists were in pain the day after my first range session with them.
2. Not a forgiving iron. I'm a 7 handicap so I still need a bit of forgiveness with my swing, and these have very little. Mishits don't fly near as far as many other similar iron offerings. They also go much further off line.
3. Ugly. I thought I could overlook the appearance of the club. But I can't. From address they look great and inspire confidence, but in the bag they are one ugly set of irons, I even got the black ones thinking the color ones would be the worst.
