PING...Hear The Difference, Feel The Power

PING Tour Wedges 4.8 5 12 12
Really Happy with Ping Wedges! I recently ordered the 56* Wide Sole wedge to go with my 58* and 60*, both of which are Standard Sole. I had found that the SS was just not working out of the bunkers as there is not enough bounce and for the average recreational golfer getting an exact placement in the sand is not happening all that often. I've also been able to use the 56* from most fairway lies with good success from 85-90 yards. Also...I had the club customized for 1" over, grip size, and "Green Dot". The club was sent directly from Ping inside the promised time-frame. My Ping Irons are great, and the wedges are a great compliment to the set. October 30, 2014
Flexible Choices I love the fact that the wedges come in many different degree angles and 3 different sole configurations. I reduced my set from 2 fairway woods to 1 so I could add an additional wedge. I purchased a 50 degree & a 54 degree standard sole wedge for approach shots and a 56 degree wide sole for hitting out of the sand. August 16, 2014
These wedges are as good as they come. I have used a lot of wedges from different manufactures, different lofts, and different grinds. The Ping wedges are as good as any on the market. There are a lot of sole configurations and different grinds and different lofts. These wedges feel every bit as good as forged wedges and they have the advantage of withstanding years of abuse with no noticeable wear. They bite similar to the clubs of old with square grooves. I purchased the 56 degree with the standard sole. For play in Texas they work well on hard packed ground and they work well from wet lies when the aprons have been over watered. Ping offers a full range of lie angles, take advantage of this feature to be sure that under dynamic conditions they contact the ground in the center of the sole. June 19, 2014
Yes, they're excellent I have played for three years, using a Ping G2 set. Got down to a 10 handicap, began thinking about upgrading to wedges with a little more feel and spin; also wanted to try a "60". I was interested in these for several reasons. The head design appeared to offer more forgiveness than one usually gets with specialty wedges -- and in fact it does. I liked the "sole width" offerings. I liked the fact that the stock shafts are the standard iron set shafts -- not the heavy shafts that usually come with specialty wedges. And, I'm a fan of Mark Crossfield (youtube); so, his favorable review was persuasive. I live in an isolated area -- the nearest golf shops with extensive inventory and testing facilities are over a hundred miles away. I had to just figure out what I wanted, and the specs I needed. Then, using TGW's "customize" button, I was able to order exactly what I wanted. I first ordered the "60" in ws -- good with my swing, and the courses I play, which are usually wet ten months out of the year. It was so easy to hit, and performed so well, I promptly ordered the 54 (also in ws) and the 47 (available only in ss), and have been equally pleased with those two clubs, as well. A few words of caution. These wedges have minimal offset. A year ago I'd have had trouble with them. Fortunately, late in '13, I began to focus intensively on "That Late Release of the Hands Thing." You must apply proper technique: any casting of the club while using these wedges is disastrous -- there's no offset to save you. But, again, I've found them easy to hit -- you just have to pay attention. I would note that when I first saw the "standard sole" on the 47, I was dismayed: barely pinkie width, half the width of my G2 47; yet, I've had no problem playing it. TGW and Ping Tour wedges: highly recommended. February 2, 2014
