One of the best irons sets for the mid-handicapper Taylormade has really created a great set of irons with the R11. They are appealing to a wide range of golfers because they incorporate many desireable features into one club - accuracy and forgiveness, distance and workability. I played the R9s for 2 seasons before upgrading to these, which I have now played for 2 seasons as well. Both the R9s and the R11s are incredible in terms of distance, when you hit the sweet spot the ball really explodes off the face and the feel of the shot is incredible - not quite a forged feel, but almost. You'll have to get used to the added distance of these irons as I find myself hitting each club about 5 yards longer than my historical average. This distance is consistent with other TM offerings which carry the "inverted cone technology" - springy clubface. The R11s are also accurate and will allow for some workability of the golf ball, although not as much as other player irons as these are geared more towards forgiveness. CONS: They have quite a high ball flight and are difficult to keep shots down in windy conditions. The construction is rather cheap. I'm sorry to say it but this is a consistent fact on TM irons. The ferrules begin to unattach after about a years worth of play #40-50 rounds# and will spin freely around the club. The shaft begins to come out of the club head as well, you will need to address this quickly once this occurs, which for me was after 2 seasons. October 27, 2014
Great distance!! These irons are the best I have ever owned. The ball seems to explode off the face of the club with little effort. The only problem I have is getting use to the change in yardage, but thats a great problem to have!! March 5, 2013
Very forgiving irons I bought the R11 irons last year and loved them. They are easy to hit and very forgiving. They definitely helped improve my game. #sweepsentry February 26, 2013
Great irons These irons are great. I can work the ball left or right, high or low. I had the burner 2.0's before and hated them. I could not work the ball. Made the switch to the R11's and love them. Two of my golfing buddys have now made the switch to the R11's. January 30, 2013
