About the Author: Jules
Alexander began taking photographs at age twelve. By the time he was fifteen,
he was shooting musicians like Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, and Duke Ellington
for Down Beat magazine. After serving as an aerial reconnaissance photographer
in the South Pacific during World War II, Alexander returned to New York where
he became a top advertising, fashion and editorial photographer.
